About the award
This scholarship interview combines a portfolio review with questions about your development as a creative practitioner. The panel assesses the quality and coherence of the work, how you make and revise it, the direction you want to pursue and how thoughtfully you handle critique.
How to prepare
- Edit your portfolio so every selected piece adds clear evidence of skill, thinking or development.
- Practise explaining the choices behind each work, including experiments that did not succeed.
- Identify recurring ideas, materials or methods that connect your strongest pieces.
- Prepare an example of using critique to improve a work while keeping its purpose clear.
- Check the official scholarship information for current portfolio formats and interview rules.
Common mistakes
- Including too many pieces without a clear reason for each choice.
- Describing only what a work looks like instead of explaining your decisions.
- Becoming defensive when the panel questions a creative choice.
- Using borrowed imagery or ideas without acknowledging their source.
