About the programme
A data analytics bootcamp admission interview explores how you think with numbers, check data and explain a useful conclusion. Prior professional experience is not essential, but the panel will look for careful reasoning, some exposure to analytical tools and a realistic plan for completing practical projects.
How to prepare
- Review rows, columns, formulas, filters and simple summaries in a spreadsheet.
- Practise turning a business question into the data fields and comparisons you would need.
- Prepare one example of finding and correcting an error in information.
- Build or review a small analysis and practise explaining the conclusion without jargon.
- Set aside regular time for exercises in Excel, SQL and visualisation.
Common mistakes
- Jumping to a conclusion before checking whether the data is complete.
- Listing tools without explaining what you have done with them.
- Treating a colourful chart as more important than an accurate finding.
- Giving a vague plan for keeping up with assignments.
