About the role

This interview focuses on forecasting medicine demand and turning uncertain commercial inputs into a usable plan. The panel wants strong data judgement, awareness of shelf life and supply constraints, clear forecast-performance analysis and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

How to prepare

  1. Revise how stock-outs, tenders, promotions and unusual orders can distort sales history.
  2. Prepare an example where forecast error or bias led you to change a method or assumption.
  3. Practise explaining the trade-off between medicine availability, excess inventory and expiry exposure.
  4. Build a simple launch forecast with base, upside and downside assumptions.
  5. Think through how you would run a consensus meeting when sales and supply views differ.

Common mistakes

  • Using shipment or sales history without correcting for stock-outs and exceptional events.
  • Reporting one accuracy figure without examining bias and the products driving the error.
  • Accepting commercial uplifts without evidence, ownership or a review trigger.
  • Reducing the demand forecast to match constrained supply and losing visibility of unmet demand.
