About the programme
This interview explores whether a full-time MBA is a well-reasoned bridge into a new field rather than an escape from your current work. The panel looks for a credible career direction, evidence that you can lead and learn with others, and a practical understanding of the demands of returning to full-time study.
How to prepare
- Map your current skills to your target field and identify the specific gaps an MBA would address.
- Prepare two leadership examples that show decisions, resistance, outcomes and what you learned.
- Research the work involved in your intended role so your career plan is grounded in real responsibilities.
- Review core quantitative topics and think through how you will manage an intensive study schedule.
- Choose examples of working with colleagues whose expertise or viewpoint differed from yours.
Common mistakes
- Describing the MBA as a general route to better opportunities without naming a credible direction.
- Criticising your current field instead of explaining what draws you towards the new one.
- Claiming every team success as your own without showing how other people contributed.
- Ignoring the financial, academic and personal adjustment involved in full-time study.
