About the role
This interview tests how you govern clinical records, improve data quality and keep information available without weakening confidentiality. The panel is looking for practical leadership across records teams, clinicians, IT staff and managers, with sound judgement when data or systems are imperfect.
How to prepare
- Map the patient record journey from registration through discharge, storage and authorised disclosure.
- Prepare an example of a data quality problem you measured, corrected and monitored.
- Review how you would control access, investigate an information incident and document decisions.
- Think through a safe records digitisation or system migration plan that keeps services running.
- Check the official data protection authority for current rules that apply to patient information in Nigeria.
Common mistakes
- Treating confidentiality as a reason never to share information for legitimate care.
- Promising clean reports without checking missing fields, duplicates and coding consistency.
- Focusing on software while ignoring workflows, training and paper record controls.
- Describing policies without showing how you monitor compliance.
