About the role
This interview tests your ability to improve how HR services, processes and technology work together. The panel will expect more than system knowledge: you need to uncover business needs, challenge unnecessary variation, define usable requirements and help people adopt the resulting operating model.
How to prepare
- Review an HR process you improved and quantify its problems without inventing precision you did not have.
- Practise explaining how current-state findings become design principles and future-state decisions.
- Prepare examples of requirements, acceptance criteria, test scenarios and data quality checks.
- Think through the trade-offs between centralised services, local support and self-service.
- Be ready to discuss how policy, process, roles, data and technology affect one another.
Common mistakes
- Assuming technology will fix an unclear or poorly controlled process by itself.
- Capturing stakeholder requests without testing the underlying business need.
- Ignoring data ownership, migration quality and user testing until late in delivery.
