About the role
This interview covers security work in a plant, warehouse, depot or other industrial site where safety and production continue around you. The panel wants consistent access control, alert patrols, respect for hazardous areas and calm coordination during incidents.
How to prepare
- Review contractor, vehicle, key and material movement controls used on industrial sites.
- Prepare examples of spotting a physical security weakness or unsafe condition during patrol.
- Practise separating immediate life safety actions from evidence preservation and later reporting.
- Revise radio discipline and fallback communication when power or coverage is unreliable.
- Think through how you challenge senior or operational staff respectfully when a control is being bypassed.
Common mistakes
- Entering a hazardous area without following the site's safety controls.
- Blocking authorised production without explaining the risk or seeking a safe alternative.
- Making accusations before facts and evidence have been secured.
- Reporting an alarm without giving the exact location, conditions and immediate actions.
