About the role
A corporate insurance broker advises organisations on risk, secures terms from insurers and stays involved through renewals and claims. The panel wants evidence that you can diagnose exposures, explain policy differences, negotiate responsibly and retain demanding accounts.
How to prepare
- Map the information you would gather from a corporate client before designing an insurance programme.
- Practise comparing quotations by cover, exclusions, deductibles, limits, service and price.
- Prepare a renewal example in which market capacity, claims history or incomplete data created a challenge.
- Review how you record advice, client instructions and insurer commitments.
- Plan how you would build referrals and a corporate prospect pipeline without overstating savings.
Common mistakes
- Discussing premium alone while overlooking exclusions, deductibles and insurer service.
- Promising that a claim will be paid before the facts and policy terms are reviewed.
- Waiting until renewal is close before collecting exposure information.
- Claiming sole credit for results that depended on placement, claims and underwriting colleagues.
