About the role
This interview tests your ability to keep fast-moving stock records dependable while goods arrive, move and leave the warehouse. The panel will look for disciplined counting, proper batch rotation and an honest, step-by-step approach to discrepancies.
How to prepare
- Review receiving, put-away, picking, dispatch and stock adjustment controls.
- Practise reconciling a simple system balance against a physical count and transaction records.
- Learn how batch tracking and first-expiry-first-out rotation protect food and other dated products.
- Prepare an example of finding the cause of an error instead of correcting only the final number.
Common mistakes
- Adjusting the system balance before checking receipts, transfers, picks and damages.
- Ignoring batch and expiry information when describing stock rotation.
- Hiding a shortage or blaming warehouse staff before reviewing the evidence.
