About the role
This is a technical interview about controlling aircraft weight, balance and loading information. The panel is assessing whether you work accurately under departure pressure, understand how a change affects the whole load plan and will pause the process when figures do not reconcile.
How to prepare
- Review the steps from booked load and check-in data to loading instruction and final load sheet.
- Revise centre of gravity, operating limits, hold restrictions and the effect of fuel and traffic load changes.
- Practise tracing a mismatch between check-in, baggage, cargo and ramp figures without guessing.
- Prepare an example of a last-minute change you recalculated and communicated correctly.
- Check the official operator procedures and current regulatory material relevant to any aircraft type you discuss.
Common mistakes
- Rushing the calculation because the flight is close to departure.
- Using an assumed figure when source data do not reconcile.
- Describing a loading change without checking its effect on weight and balance.
- Failing to confirm that a revised instruction reached the flight and ramp teams.
