About the role
This interview tests how you would watch a live telecoms network, interpret alarms and support restoration from the NOC. The panel wants calm prioritisation, sound networking basics, timely escalation and records that the next shift can trust.
How to prepare
- Review the path from a customer device through radio, transmission and core network elements.
- Practise grouping related alarms so you can explain which one may be the root cause.
- Prepare an example of prioritising competing faults by customer and service impact.
- Revise common checks for interface, latency, packet loss, power and reachability alarms.
- Practise giving a brief incident update with impact, checks completed, owner and next action.
Common mistakes
- Treating every alarm as a separate failure without checking shared dependencies.
- Escalating with no evidence of the checks already completed.
- Focusing on technical detail while failing to state customer impact.
- Leaving an open incident without a clear owner or next action.
