About the role
A post production supervisor owns the route from recorded material to approved masters and archives. The interview covers workflow design, schedule and cost control, vendor coordination, version management and technical delivery. The panel is looking for someone who can translate between creative, production and technical teams without losing detail.
How to prepare
- Draw the workflow of a complex project from ingest through picture, sound, visual effects and final masters.
- Prepare an example of recovering a post schedule after a late lock or failed delivery.
- Review your methods for turnovers, naming, storage, approvals, backups and archive handover.
- Choose a technical quality issue you diagnosed and explain how you prevented a repeat.
- Be ready to discuss how you compare vendor bids and monitor changes against the post budget.
Common mistakes
- Using technical terms without explaining the control or delivery outcome.
- Assuming that every late stage can be compressed once picture lock slips.
- Leaving version ownership or approval responsibility unclear.
- Treating quality control as a single check at the end of the process.
