About the role
This internship supports small, evidence-based improvements in a manufacturing operation. The panel is looking for curiosity, careful observation and the ability to turn a vague complaint into a defined problem. You are not expected to know every tool, but you should show that you test assumptions and learn from operators.
How to prepare
- Revise basic process maps, cause analysis and the purpose of a small improvement trial.
- Prepare an example of using Excel or another simple tool to organise observations.
- Practise separating symptoms, possible causes and evidence.
- Think through how you would check that a change does not harm safety or quality.
- Prepare questions you would ask the people who carry out the process each day.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a solution before defining the problem.
- Treating one spreadsheet result as proof without checking the process.
- Presenting an improvement as your idea alone when operators helped shape it.
