About the role
This interview is for an assistant who checks food materials, processes and finished products. The panel wants careful sampling, reliable testing, strong hygiene awareness and the confidence to contain questionable product while the facts are checked.
How to prepare
- Review how representative sampling differs for liquids, powders and packaged food.
- Revise basic hygiene, temperature, allergen and cross-contamination controls.
- Prepare an example of noticing an unusual result and checking whether the test was valid.
- Think through how you would label, separate and communicate about suspect product.
- Practise explaining why traceability must connect every result to the right batch.
Common mistakes
- Retesting until a preferred result appears without investigating the first result.
- Assuming a clean-looking surface cannot create a contamination risk.
- Releasing suspect product before the result and batch status are resolved.
