About the role
This interview examines whether you can turn demand into a feasible supply plan across materials, production and distribution. The panel will look for structured trade-offs, early risk management and the authority to align teams when capacity or stock cannot meet every request.
How to prepare
- Prepare a supply constraint case and explain your priorities, options, decision and service outcome.
- Review how lead times, yields, batch sizes, safety stock and shelf life affect the plan.
- Practise explaining allocation choices in plain commercial terms rather than only system language.
- Think through recovery from a breakdown, delayed material or sudden demand increase.
- Prepare an example of correcting planning parameters or master data that caused poor decisions.
Common mistakes
- Presenting an unconstrained plan as though production can always absorb demand changes.
- Prioritising only by revenue without considering customers, margin, shelf life and recovery time.
- Blaming system recommendations without checking the data and parameters behind them.
