About the role
This interview is for an administrator responsible for identity, messaging and collaboration across Microsoft 365. The panel is looking for secure account lifecycle practices, structured troubleshooting and careful changes that protect services without confusing or locking out users.
How to prepare
- Review user and group administration, role assignment, authentication policies and access review concepts.
- Prepare a Microsoft 365 incident example and explain the evidence you used to isolate it.
- Think through account creation, role changes and prompt access removal when someone leaves.
- Practise explaining a security change to users in plain language.
Common mistakes
- Granting broad roles because they are easier to administer.
- Assuming every reported issue is a local device problem without checking service evidence.
- Applying an authentication policy to everyone before testing recovery and exception paths.
