About this interview
A UK student visa credibility interview checks that you are a genuine student who understands your course and can afford to study. An officer or university staff member asks about your course, why you chose this university, your previous studies, your career plans and how you are funding your time in the UK.
How to prepare
- Know your course modules, length, location and how it builds on your previous studies.
- Explain why this university and course, compared with options at home and elsewhere, in specific terms.
- Be clear about your career plans and how the qualification helps you reach them.
- Understand your funding in detail, including who is paying and where the money is held.
- Explain any gap in your studies or work history honestly and simply.
Common mistakes
- Knowing little about your course beyond its title.
