About the programme
An undergraduate admission interview helps a university decide whether you are ready for the course and will make the most of it. The panel looks at why you chose the subject, how you approach learning, what you will add to campus life and what you hope to do after you graduate.
How to prepare
- Read the course outline and be ready to explain which parts interest you and why.
- Think of something you read, watched or did outside class that deepened your interest in the subject.
- Prepare examples of how you contributed at school, such as clubs, sports or volunteering.
- Review your WAEC, JAMB or other results and be ready to talk about your strongest subjects.
- Practise explaining your goals after graduating in a few clear sentences.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the course because of prestige and having nothing personal to say about it.
- Memorising a speech instead of having a real conversation.
- Knowing nothing about the course content or the university.
