About the role
A warehouse associate receives goods, stores them in the right place, picks and packs orders, and helps with stock counts. The interviewer wants to see that you are careful, follow procedures, lift and move goods safely, and help keep the warehouse orderly so orders go out correct and on time.
How to prepare
- Be ready to explain how you check a delivery against the paperwork before you accept it.
- Think of a time you spotted an error in stock or an order and what you did about it.
- Learn the basics of safe lifting and how to work around forklifts and moving equipment.
- Practise describing how you keep your work area clean and organised during a busy shift.
- Prepare an honest answer about shift work, overtime and peak periods.
Common mistakes
- Focusing only on speed and saying nothing about accuracy, which is what customers notice.
- Not knowing basic safety rules for lifting and moving goods.
- Giving vague answers about attendance, when reliability matters a lot in warehouse teams.
