About the role
An AI trainer helps improve AI models by labelling data, rating responses and writing better examples against detailed guidelines. The work is mostly remote and focused: reading carefully, applying rules consistently and using strong language judgement, often including Nigerian English, Pidgin or another local language. The panel is checking your attention to detail, writing quality and reliability.
How to prepare
- Practise reading a long set of instructions and applying them to examples without drifting from the rules.
- Sharpen your grammar, spelling and punctuation, since your writing becomes training data.
- Prepare to explain how you would rate two responses and justify your choice clearly and briefly.
- Think about how you stay accurate during long, repetitive tasks and how you manage your time.
- Sort out a reliable workspace with backup power and internet so power cuts do not cost you deadlines.
Common mistakes
- Rushing through tasks and making careless errors to look fast.
- Applying your own opinion in place of what the guidelines say.
- Overstating language fluency that the test tasks will quickly expose.
