About the role
A depot operations supervisor keeps product receipts, storage and truck loading safe, orderly and traceable across a shift. The panel wants evidence that you can control changing priorities, account for stocks, intervene when critical steps are missed and lead the first response to an operational upset.
How to prepare
- Review the checks used before tank transfers and truck loading begin.
- Prepare an example of recovering a delayed operation without bypassing a safety control.
- Think through how you reconcile stock movements and investigate an unexplained difference.
- Practise describing your response to a leak, spill or equipment alarm at a loading point.
- Prepare an example of correcting an unsafe habit in an experienced shift team.
Common mistakes
- Treating truck queues as a reason to shorten pre-loading checks.
- Attributing a stock variance to temperature or measurement before tracing every movement.
- Giving shift instructions without confirming ownership and completion.
