About the role
This interview covers the safe movement and custody of products through a storage or export terminal. The panel wants an officer who can verify line-ups, monitor tank and transfer conditions, explain stock differences, respond quickly to abnormal readings and give the next shift an accurate operational picture.
How to prepare
- Review the checks required before product receipt, tank transfer and dispatch operations.
- Prepare an example of investigating a stock or transfer variance methodically.
- Think through your response to an unexpected tank level, pressure or leak indication.
- Practise explaining a line-up check and how you prevent movement through the wrong route.
- Prepare an example of coordinating several activities during a busy shift handover.
Common mistakes
- Starting a transfer without independently verifying the tank and line route.
- Explaining stock differences as measurement error before checking the full movement trail.
- Giving a handover that lists tasks but omits equipment status, risks and pending decisions.
