About the role
This interview is for an operator who works around pressurised, highly flammable LPG. The panel wants disciplined operating sequences, strong awareness of ignition and leak hazards, careful cylinder inspection and a clear handover when plant conditions change.
How to prepare
- Revise LPG properties, vapour behaviour, ignition control and basic emergency actions.
- Review the checks used to reject damaged or unsuitable cylinders before filling.
- Practise describing safe receipt, storage, transfer and filling sequences without skipping authorisation steps.
- Study the purpose of valves, hoses, pumps, gauges, alarms and emergency shutdown devices.
- Prepare an example of following a strict procedure during practical training or shift work.
Common mistakes
- Approaching a suspected leak with equipment that could create an ignition source.
- Continuing a transfer when tank level, pressure or valve position is uncertain.
- Filling a damaged cylinder because a queue is building.
- Giving a vague handover that omits alarms, isolations or equipment left unavailable.
