About the role
This interview tests whether you can run a food factory as one operating system rather than a set of separate departments. The panel will look for sound judgement on food safety, output, cost and people, backed by examples of improvements that lasted.
How to prepare
- Map the measures you use for output, waste, labour, downtime, safety and quality, and explain how they connect.
- Prepare an example of containing a serious product or process risk while maintaining clear communication.
- Review how you translate a demand plan into labour, materials, maintenance and warehouse priorities.
- Choose one sustained factory improvement and be ready to explain the baseline, root cause and control plan.
- Think through how you would lead during power, equipment or material disruption without bypassing controls.
Common mistakes
- Focusing on tonnes produced while ignoring yield, complaints, safety or conversion cost.
- Treating food safety as the quality team's responsibility rather than a factory leadership duty.
- Claiming an improvement without explaining the baseline, your decisions and how the result was sustained.
