About the role

This is a technical interview about developing and scaling tablets or capsules. The panel is looking for sound formulation reasoning, well-designed experiments, careful interpretation of laboratory and stability data, and the ability to transfer a reproducible process into manufacturing.

How to prepare

  1. Review the functions of common tablet and capsule excipients and how they interact with material properties.
  2. Prepare a formulation project that shows your experimental choices, results and next decisions.
  3. Revise common causes of capping, sticking, poor flow, variable weight and dissolution failure.
  4. Practise interpreting a small set of assay, impurity, dissolution and stability results.
  5. Think through the information manufacturing and quality teams need during technical transfer.

Common mistakes

  • Listing excipients without explaining what risk or performance need each one addresses.
  • Changing several variables at once without a plan for interpreting the outcome.
  • Assuming laboratory success will transfer directly to larger equipment and batch sizes.
  • Ignoring stability or manufacturability while focusing only on initial dissolution results.
