About the programme
This interview assesses applicants who already hold a degree or substantial prior experience and want to begin medical training. The panel looks for an informed reason for changing direction, evidence that you can manage intensive study, mature reflection and a realistic view of clinical responsibility.
How to prepare
- Build a clear account of why medicine, why now and why your previous path did not meet the same goals.
- Review the learning demands of the programme and make a practical plan for sustained study.
- Choose examples that show how prior experience shaped your communication, teamwork and judgement.
- Refresh the core science relevant to the admissions process described by the university.
- Practise analysing ethical situations while recognising the limits of a student role.
Common mistakes
- Describing medicine as an escape from another career rather than a well-tested choice.
- Assuming professional experience automatically proves readiness for clinical training.
- Ignoring the pace and volume of an accelerated curriculum.
- Giving polished examples without explaining what you learned or changed.
