About the award
This accelerator interview assesses an innovation intended to improve health outcomes or health service delivery. The panel looks for a well-defined need, evidence proportionate to the claims, safe handling of patients and data, and a realistic path to adoption.
How to prepare
- State the health problem, affected users and clinical or service outcome without overstating your evidence.
- Separate completed testing from planned testing and explain the safeguards used in each.
- Map the patient, health worker, provider, purchaser and regulator involved in adoption.
- Check the programme's official guidance and the current rules that apply to your product and health data.
- Prepare a milestone that the accelerator can materially help you reach.
Common mistakes
- Making clinical claims that go beyond the evidence available.
- Focusing on the technology while overlooking changes to health workers' routines.
- Treating patient consent, safety or data protection as a later-stage concern.
