About the role
This interview tests how you lead health, safety and environmental performance at an operating mine. The panel is looking for strong control of high-consequence hazards, calm incident leadership and the confidence to influence production and contractor teams. Your answers should connect systems and reports to what you verify in the field.
How to prepare
- Map the critical controls you would expect for mobile equipment, ground instability, blasting, energy isolation and confined spaces.
- Prepare an incident example that covers immediate response, evidence gathering, causal analysis and action verification.
- Review how you use leading and lagging indicators without allowing headline figures to hide weak controls.
- Practise explaining when and how you would stop work during production pressure.
- Prepare an example of improving contractor safety through supervision, assurance and accountability.
