About the programme
An IGCSE programme admission interview checks whether the student is ready for a broad, structured course of study. The panel considers prior attainment, subject choices, study routines and whether the student understands that different subjects may use different forms of assessment.
How to prepare
- Review the content and assessment approach for each subject you hope to take.
- Identify strengths and gaps in your recent school results.
- Plan how you would balance homework, revision and activities across the week.
- Choose an example of improving after feedback in a difficult topic.
- Consider how your subject choices may affect later study options.
Common mistakes
- Assuming every IGCSE subject is assessed in the same way.
- Choosing subjects only because they seem easy or because friends chose them.
- Describing an unrealistic study timetable with no time for rest or activities.
- Waiting until assessments are close before asking for help.
