About the role
This interview covers compliance monitoring across product design, sales, onboarding, policy servicing and claims. The panel wants to see that you can interpret obligations, test how controls work in practice, recognise financial crime and conduct risks, and secure lasting remediation without losing independence.
How to prepare
- Review how you convert a regulatory obligation into a control, testing step and evidence request.
- Prepare a monitoring review you completed and explain your sampling, findings and follow-up.
- Revise customer due diligence, suspicious activity escalation, fair treatment and data handling risks in insurance.
- Think of an issue where the first proposed action did not address the root cause.
- Check the official regulator and data protection authority sites for current rules that apply to the prospective role.
Common mistakes
- Reciting regulations without explaining how the business should evidence compliance.
- Treating a clean sample as proof that the wider control is effective.
- Accepting remediation that corrects records but leaves the underlying cause in place.
- Using vague risk language instead of stating the affected customers, process and control gap.
