About the role
This interview tests how you support policyholders from routine policy enquiries through sensitive claims and complaints. The panel is looking for accurate insurance explanations, calm service recovery, reliable case notes and sound judgement about what you can resolve or must escalate.
How to prepare
- Revise the usual journey from policy purchase and renewal through notification and claims settlement.
- Prepare an example of resolving a complaint while staying within policy terms and service procedures.
- Practise explaining premiums, excesses, exclusions and outstanding claim requirements in plain language.
- Review how you would verify a caller and protect confidential policy and claims information.
- Think through how you prioritise an upset customer, an overdue update and routine enquiries at the same time.
Common mistakes
- Promising that a claim will be paid before an authorised decision has been made.
- Repeating policy wording without checking that the customer understands it.
- Treating a complaint as closed without recording actions or confirming the outcome.
- Sharing policy information before completing the required customer checks.
