About this interview
This interview checks whether you are a genuine student with an informed course choice and workable arrangements for study in Malaysia. The interviewer will look for links between your academic record, your study plan, your funding and your intentions after the course.
How to prepare
- Check the official Malaysian immigration or student visa site for the current rules and evidence.
- Review the course structure and explain how it supports a specific academic or career direction.
- Prepare examples that show you can handle the expected level of study.
- Work through your funding, accommodation and regular living arrangements.
- Make sure your post-study plans are clear and consistent with the permission requested.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the country without explaining why the course itself is suitable.
- Knowing little about the subjects or study demands.
- Giving a funding plan that depends on uncertain work income.
- Describing post-study plans that conflict with the permission requested.
