About the role
This interview tests whether you can bring order to an unfamiliar business problem, use evidence carefully and communicate a practical answer. The panel is not looking for prior consulting experience, but it will expect sound logic, comfortable arithmetic and a clear explanation of your choices.
How to prepare
- Practise structuring profitability, growth and operational cases without forcing every problem into the same framework.
- Refresh mental arithmetic, percentages and interpretation of tables and charts.
- Prepare examples of research, teamwork and solving an ambiguous problem from study, volunteering or work.
- Practise ending a case with a recommendation, supporting evidence, risks and a sensible next step.
- Review how to build a simple, message-led presentation slide.
Common mistakes
- Listing a memorised framework without adapting it to the client's actual question.
- Doing calculations silently and failing to explain their business meaning.
- Giving a long summary without making a clear recommendation.
