About the award
This fellowship interview assesses your readiness to learn and contribute in peacebuilding and mediation settings. The panel is interested in how you analyse conflict, manage dialogue, include affected communities and make safe ethical choices. Check the official programme guidance for current eligibility and selection rules.
How to prepare
- Practise mapping the parties, interests, relationships and power differences in a conflict case.
- Prepare examples of facilitating disagreement, rebuilding trust or supporting a fair process.
- Review basic approaches to confidentiality, informed participation and avoiding further harm.
- Reflect on an assumption you changed after hearing another perspective.
- Check the official programme information for its current regional focus and application requirements.
Common mistakes
- Treating neutrality as silence when a process is unsafe or unfair.
- Presenting a complex conflict as the fault of one party.
- Promising confidentiality without considering safeguarding or risk.
- Speaking for affected people instead of explaining how you would hear them.
