About the role
This interview is for a support role close to the payments product team. The panel is looking for calm customer handling, accurate transaction investigation, strong escalation notes and the ability to identify patterns that should influence the product.
How to prepare
- Learn common payment states and the difference between a decline, timeout, pending result and reversal.
- Practise asking for useful transaction details without requesting unnecessary sensitive information.
- Prepare an example of helping someone through a confusing technical problem.
- Review how to write a concise issue summary with impact, evidence and troubleshooting already completed.
- Think of ways repeated support contacts can reveal unclear product behaviour.
Common mistakes
- Telling a customer to wait without checking the transaction state or recording evidence.
- Requesting sensitive card credentials or other information that support does not need.
- Escalating a vague complaint without references, timestamps, impact or steps already tried.
