About the role
This interview tests whether you can configure, integrate and support a live radio access network without losing sight of its dependencies. The panel will look for structured diagnosis, safe change practice and effective coordination across radio, transport, core, power and field teams.
How to prepare
- Review the logical and physical dependencies required for a radio node to carry traffic.
- Prepare an example of a difficult RAN fault and the evidence that confirmed its cause.
- Revise common radio alarms, synchronisation issues and transport reachability checks.
- Practise describing a software or parameter change from pre-checks through rollback.
- Think about how you manage responsibility during a multi-domain incident.
Common mistakes
- Assuming management reachability means the service path is complete.
- Changing several parameters before establishing a baseline.
- Escalating to another team without useful timestamps, alarms or test evidence.
