About the role
This interview tests whether you can turn agronomic evidence into decisions that work at field scale. The panel is looking for strong crop and soil knowledge, disciplined diagnosis, useful trial design and the judgement to guide production teams through uncertain conditions.
How to prepare
- Revise how soil condition, crop stage, weather and field history shape nutrient decisions.
- Prepare an example of diagnosing a pest, disease or nutrient problem from incomplete evidence.
- Review how you design field trials, control variation and interpret results.
- Choose an example where your technical recommendation improved a production decision.
- Practise explaining a complex agronomic finding to field staff in plain language.
Common mistakes
- Prescribing inputs before confirming the likely cause of a field problem.
- Describing trial results without explaining the design or sources of variation.
- Giving technical advice that field teams cannot implement safely or on time.
