About the role
This interview focuses on improving application security from design through production. The panel wants technical depth in common attack paths, careful risk judgement and evidence that you can help software teams adopt controls that fit real delivery constraints.
How to prepare
- Practise threat-modelling a web feature by identifying assets, trust boundaries, abuse cases and mitigations.
- Review examples of broken authorisation, injection, insecure deserialisation and server-side request forgery.
- Prepare a vulnerability decision where business context changed the order of remediation.
- Think through how security checks fit into code review, CI and release processes without overwhelming developers.
- Choose an example where you influenced a resistant engineering or product team.
Common mistakes
- Reciting vulnerability names without tracing how an attacker would reach the weakness.
- Using severity scores as the entire remediation decision.
- Proposing controls that do not fit the team's architecture or delivery process.
