About the role
This interview tests whether you can lead the cabin when routine service becomes a safety, medical or behavioural challenge. The panel is looking for calm command, accurate procedures, useful communication with the flight deck and firm but respectful treatment of passengers.
How to prepare
- Review emergency, medical and disruptive passenger examples where you coordinated other crew members.
- Practise a concise pre-flight briefing that assigns duties and invites safety concerns.
- Prepare an example of correcting a colleague without undermining them in front of passengers.
- Refresh relevant procedures and check current certificate requirements with the official aviation authority.
- Think through passenger updates and service recovery when you have limited information or supplies.
Common mistakes
- Giving a service-led answer before controlling the safety risk.
- Trying to manage an escalating passenger alone instead of using the crew and flight deck.
- Giving vague cabin updates that create more confusion during disruption.
- Correcting junior crew harshly without explaining the required standard afterwards.
