About the role
This interview tests how you turn geological evidence into a resource model that mine planners can trust. The panel is looking for sound estimation judgement, rigorous data controls and clear communication about uncertainty, classification and reconciliation.
How to prepare
- Review how you build and validate geological domains before estimation.
- Prepare an example of selecting an estimation method and defending its assumptions.
- Revise sampling, assay, density and database quality controls used in resource work.
- Think through a reconciliation problem and the investigations you would prioritise.
- Prepare to explain technical uncertainty to a mine planning or investment audience.
Common mistakes
- Treating software output as evidence without explaining geological judgement and validation.
- Ignoring sampling and assay limitations when discussing confidence in an estimate.
- Claiming precision that the drilling density or geological continuity cannot support.
- Describing classification labels without connecting them to material project decisions.
