About the role
This interview tests how you protect manufacturing quality beyond the factory gate. The panel will look for evidence that you can qualify suppliers, contain incoming defects, test corrective actions and work constructively with procurement and production.
How to prepare
- Prepare a supplier defect case from detection through verified closure.
- Review process audits, incoming inspection and supplier performance measures.
- Practise challenging a weak root cause without damaging the working relationship.
- Think through continuity options when a poor-performing supplier has no quick replacement.
Common mistakes
- Accepting retraining as a root cause without evidence about why the process allowed the error.
- Scoring suppliers on price alone while ignoring defects and disruption.
- Closing corrective actions after paperwork arrives without checking effectiveness.
