About the role

This interview tests whether you can lead an accountable supply chain while a humanitarian response is changing quickly. The panel will look for sound procurement judgement, reliable stock control, realistic transport plans and clear coordination with field and programme teams.

How to prepare

  1. Map one emergency supply chain you managed from request through sourcing, storage and final delivery.
  2. Prepare an example of balancing urgent operational need with procurement rules and audit evidence.
  3. Review how you use consumption, lead time and stock data to prevent shortages and excess stock.
  4. Think through alternatives for disrupted roads, weak communications and limited local suppliers.
  5. Prepare a supplier performance problem and explain the corrective action you led.

Common mistakes

  • Treating emergency procurement as permission to skip competition or documentation.
  • Discussing delivery speed without considering quality, safety and total cost.
  • Relying on software reports without explaining physical stock checks and reconciliations.
  • Blaming programme teams instead of showing how you improve joint planning.
