About the role
A technical support engineer investigates product and integration problems while keeping customers informed. The interview checks your troubleshooting sequence, web and API fundamentals, judgement about incidents and ability to hand an issue to engineering with evidence that saves time.
How to prepare
- Practise moving from a vague symptom to steps, scope, timing, environment and expected behaviour.
- Revise HTTP requests, status codes, authentication, browser tools, logs and basic network checks.
- Prepare an example of solving a difficult problem by testing evidence rather than guessing.
- Review what makes an engineering escalation complete and reproducible.
- Practise writing a customer update that is useful even when the cause is not yet known.
Common mistakes
- Suggesting several unrelated fixes before confirming the symptom and scope.
- Sharing internal speculation with the customer as though it were a confirmed cause.
- Escalating a ticket without reproduction steps, timestamps or relevant error details.
