About the role
This interview is about creating retail displays that are attractive, practical and commercially useful. The panel will test how you interpret a brief, adapt ideas across store formats, organise installation and learn from shopper response and sales evidence.
How to prepare
- Select examples that show both the visual idea and the trading purpose behind it.
- Review how colour, hierarchy, lighting, signage and shopper flow affect a display.
- Prepare a story about adapting a display because of limited space, fixtures or stock.
- Think through the installation sequence for a campaign change with little disruption to customers.
- Practise explaining how you judge whether a display is working after launch.
Common mistakes
- Discussing personal taste without connecting the display to the brief or shopper journey.
- Presenting team work without making your own decisions and contribution clear.
- Ignoring safety, replenishment access or the practical installation sequence.
- Claiming success based on appearance alone without any commercial evidence.
