About the programme
A boarding school admission interview helps the school see whether you are ready to live and learn away from home. The staff look at how independent you are, how you get along with others, how you handle being away from family and how interested you are in learning.
How to prepare
- Think about what you look forward to in boarding life and what you will miss.
- Remember a time you shared a space with others, such as a camp or a holiday with relatives.
- Practise talking about how you look after your own things and keep your routine.
- Think of a time you sorted out a disagreement with a friend.
- Learn a little about the school's houses, clubs and daily routine.
Common mistakes
- Pretending you will never miss home instead of showing how you will cope.
- Giving very short answers when the staff want to get to know you.
- Saying nothing about how you get along with others.
