About the role
This interview focuses on field leadership for well interventions and workovers. The panel wants evidence that you can maintain barrier discipline, recognise changing well conditions, coordinate several specialist crews and stop work when the basis for safe execution is no longer valid.
How to prepare
- Prepare an intervention where conditions changed and explain the decisions you made at the site.
- Review pressure control equipment, barrier schematics, function testing and emergency response.
- Think through mobilisation, simultaneous operations, permit and handover controls.
- Prepare an example of challenging a contractor or stopping work under schedule pressure.
- Practise leading a concise pre-job briefing for a mixed crew.
Common mistakes
- Giving an engineering answer without explaining who controls the field response.
- Continuing work when a barrier, test result or operating limit is uncertain.
- Ignoring logistics and simultaneous operations when discussing execution readiness.
